This Thai Restaurant project in Bengaluru was conceived as an immersive dining experience
inspired by the relaxed charm of Thailand’s iconic beach destinations. Designed within a
compact 1,000 sq. ft. footprint, the space blends thematic storytelling with functional
interior planning to create a vibrant, welcoming, and memorable restaurant environment.
The design objective was to transport diners away from the urban setting into a coastal
retreat—balancing visual richness with comfort, efficiency, and smooth operational flow.
Design Concept & Spatial Experience
A beach-themed concept forms the foundation of the restaurant’s design language. The
theme is thoughtfully translated through wall finishes, flooring patterns, and ceiling
treatments, ensuring consistency across the space without overwhelming the interiors.
Natural textures and layered materials evoke the casual elegance of seaside dining while
maintaining a refined, contemporary feel.
Bamboo ceiling elements introduce warmth and authenticity, reinforcing the tropical
narrative. These features add depth and character while softening the ceiling plane and
enhancing the overall acoustic comfort of the dining area
Material Palette & Custom Details
Custom resin-finished tabletops inspired by the fluid movement of ocean waves serve as
focal elements within the restaurant. Their glossy, organic finish reflects light subtly, adding
visual dynamism and reinforcing the coastal theme.
The colour palette draws directly from nature, combining soothing aqua blues, sandy beige
tones, and natural wood finishes. This harmonious blend creates a calm and refreshing
atmosphere while keeping the space visually lively and inviting.
Cane and wicker-style seating was carefully selected to complement the tropical aesthetic.
These materials add texture, lightness, and an informal charm that aligns perfectly with the
beach-inspired concept.
Lighting & Ambience
Lighting plays a crucial role in shaping the dining experience. Warm pendant lights are
strategically placed to create a relaxed, vacation-like ambience. The lighting design enhances
the textures and colours of the interiors while maintaining comfortable illumination for
dining.
Planning & Functionality
Minimal furniture planning ensures smooth circulation for both guests and staff, supporting
efficient service flow. The open layout fosters a lively yet uncluttered environment, making
the restaurant feel spacious despite its compact size.
This Thai Restaurant project successfully blends thematic design, material authenticity, and
functional planning—delivering a coastal dining experience that feels immersive, energetic,
and effortlessly inviting within an urban setting.
