Project Type: Multi-Storey Hospitality Development

Project Overview
The Mysuru Hotel is a multi-storey hospitality project designed to respond sensitively to its
dense urban surroundings while establishing itself as a distinct architectural landmark. The
project seamlessly blends traditional Mysuru-inspired luxury with contemporary
transparency, resulting in a structure that is both rooted in context and forward-looking in
expression.

Developed on a compact urban plot, the design emphasizes verticality, material contrast, and
thoughtful massing to maximize spatial efficiency without compromising on visual identity or
guest experience.

Design Concept & Architectural Expression
The building is composed as a rectilinear volume articulated through stepped tiers, creating a
strong vertical presence along the street edge. The lower four floors, housing primary
hospitality and service functions, are designed with a solid and grounded architectural
language. These levels reflect classical Mysuru sensibilities through robust massing,
proportion, and material depth.

In contrast, the upper levels transition into a lighter architectural expression. The rooftop
restaurant and mezzanine are executed in a glass-and-steel framework, creating a visual
pause above the heavier base and reinforcing the vertical hierarchy of the structure. This
contrast enhances the building’s skyline presence while visually reducing its perceived bulk.

Ground-Level Planning & Urban Response
A recessed ground floor creates a sheltered entrance zone, improving pedestrian accessibility
and offering a sense of arrival distinct from the surrounding streetscape. This design move
gives the building a “lifted” architectural quality, enhancing openness while maintaining
privacy and functionality.

The recessed entry also allows for smoother vehicular movement and guest drop-off,
addressing practical urban constraints without compromising aesthetics.

Rooftop Experience & Structural Highlights
The rooftop restaurant is crowned by a dramatic cantilevered black roof plane featuring a
butterfly roof profile. This bold architectural element defines the building’s silhouette and
acts as a visual marker within the cityscape. Expansive floor-to-ceiling glazing surrounds the
rooftop space, offering uninterrupted 360-degree panoramic views of Mysuru while flooding
the interiors with natural light.

Facade Treatment & Local Identity
A prominent vertical signage strip anchors the main façade, incorporating intricate
latticework inspired by traditional jali patterns. This element introduces local artistry into the
contemporary form, creating a dialogue between heritage and modernity. The result is a
building that feels contextually grounded yet unmistakably contemporary.
